Its been too long. Last doodle was 25th June! Too busy?! Thats a good thing, right? Yes. But its also good to keep the doodlin' a flowin'.
This doodle is inspired by a beautiful woman who took a leap into the unknown with passion and bravery. She's found her feet and they want to go in another direction and its gonna be OK. They steppin' into the future ... surrounded by LOVE. Happiness. Happiness. Happiness. Right now. In the moment of now. And now and then a bit more ... just right NOW.
Been slacking on me doodles innit. Back on track now ... this funny little doodlin' is influenced by our societies obsession with the body beautiful and our irrational views on perfection. Or its just a doodle wot I done in under 5 minutes.
Can get a groove on today...maybe its just Mondays. All the usual still applies. Which is nice #ilovemyjob
Ohhhhhhhhhhh the waxy and waney-ness of it all! Ain't it delicious?!
'Well something's lost, but something's gained in living every day' Joni Mitchell I am incredibly lucky to be given the opportunity by my family to do what I love very day. I am not saying its perfect, perfection is a fools errand (get me) but its the absolute maxi bees knees to be happy with what you do. Everything changes, grows, waxes, wanes, but right now, this moment, I am totes loving me zone.
This doodle was a dream, it flowed and rushed in; inspired by the birth of a beautiful baby boy. Baby B, you are surrounded by love.
I have no name I am but three days old. What shall I call thee? I happy am Joy is my name, Sweet joy befall thee! Pretty joy! Sweet joy but three days old, Sweet joy I call thee; Thou dost smile. I sing the while Sweet joy befall thee. William Blake Ain't that the truth. After extolling the virtues of listening yesterday, I spent the day in my head today. Get set...go, sort, shift, rearrange, prioritise, shelve, file and recycle. And breathe. Roll on a night with friends and family in the great outdoors. Am gonna shake me noggin in the moonlight and let it all out.
Really, you need to listen to the whole season (Seasons 1 & 2 too, obvs) but this episode was what inspired this doodle. Its not what I thought I would doodle, its not the image I had in my head...it just came out of nowhere. Well, maybe not no where innit. There IS the tenuous link that you listen to a podcast, Sarah K talks about LISTENING to the right people at the right time and listening is such a super skill. And it IS a skill, a really important one, one I am not very good at. True listening, proper real listening is what its all about...when you push all the fuzz and hum and static and chatter from your own brain to make room for someone else. Then you really hear.
This went horribly wrong, but I have posted it anyway. I have to learn to stop self editing, feel the power of failure (by failure I mean LEARNING) and suck it up. So there me!
...every face tells a story and is beautiful. I've spent years worrying about mine; a futile exercise. We are nowt but food for worms.
'Thou art a box of worm-seed, at best but a salvatory of green mummy. What ’s this flesh? a little crudded milk, fantastical puff-paste. Our bodies are weaker than those paper-prisons boys use to keep flies in; more contemptible, since ours is to preserve earth-worms. Didst thou ever see a lark in a cage? Such is the soul in the body: this world is like her little turf of grass, and the heaven o’er our heads like her looking-glass, only gives us a miserable knowledge of the small compass of our prison.' John Webster - The Duchess of Malfi Little moments of loveliness are the bomb. Enjoying a 91.5 quality coffee being one, being shown a personal coffee journey - quite spontaneously - another. Have a lovely week world.
Seriously though, its a long time since Ive drawn any animals. Ones not going to dwell on it though innit. Its FRIYAY!
Doodlin' to music. Lush. Today's doodlin' inspired by Aldous Harding, Fixture Picture. LISTEN TO IT. There is practically no correlation to my picture and the song. It just happened simultaneously. I played it over and over again. Its a beauty bop.
There is always a home for you in my heart...
You never know where a doodle is going to take you. Sometime it takes you where it want to go innit. Serendipity power. A heart lingers at a line of smoke and voila, a tiny story is told. Best one so far and I cant take any credit for it. The apprentice has become the master. Already. Mind you, delegation is a super skill and it would be one less thing to do each day...hmmm...
